ABOUT THE PROJECT
it's not winning if it's not etwinning.
Innovative eTwinners Can Do More is a project meant to foster exchange of good practices with the use of eTwinning, Web 2.0 tools and technology enhanced teaching and learning. The project will last 24 months and involve different types of secondary schools from: Poland, Turkey, Italy, Croatia and Macedonia. The background of the project lies in significant impact of eTwinning on the development of teaching skills, teaching practices and the ability to teach cross-curricular skills.
The survey results on eTwinning illustrate that according to teachers, eTwinning has had a particularly positive impact on their project-based teaching skills and foreign language skills, as well as multi-disciplinary teaching, students’ competence development, student-centred discussions and the development of learning skills. More than 90% of respondents have contributed to eTwinning to improve interpersonal relationships by enhancing student motivation and promoting collaborative work among students. In relation to schools.
We believe IECDM project should be funded as it is innovative by implementing several eTwinning projects on various topics related to Erasmus+ programme priorities. Thus, implementing such a project at European level, we can have a greater impact on the usage of eTwinning platform and dissemination of eTwinning and Erasmus+ projects at European level.
BACKGROUND
The project is interdisciplinary and multileveled as it refers to all the subjects (the choice of the subject depends on the target group of students, teachers involved in it and their expertise and the type of the school). Theoretical part is limited only to getting to know the Tools to be used whereas the practical part plays the most vital element of the whole idea. The main task is not to learn from textbooks but only empirically through experience during multinational lessons and from lessons based on the abilities gained throughout the whole process. Each partner meeting will be divided into a few stages: experimenting with the tools, gathering data, their analysis with the use of web 2.0 tools and presentation of these results in a number of forms including artistic expression. All the activities are complementary to schools' curricula.
Students from partners countries will have a chance to experience the world from another perspective (being a part of an exchange program and sharing the life of their partners), break stereotypes and become more tolerant and open to differences.
SOCIAL CONTEXT
In partner schools there are students with special needs and students that risk social exclusion. Some students’ families have not got florid finances, so this project will give them the possibility to improve their English, increase their interests and motivation, develop international understanding and cooperation and enlarging their cultural horizons. This project can also give our students the opportunity to compare their culture, customs and knowledge with peers living in other countries of Europe.
